The Bench: London weekly hotel performance to 30 July, 2006
London hotels boosted revenue per available room (revpar) by 40% in the week ending 30 July, according to figures from hotel benchmarking service The Bench.
Revpar climbed to £110.26, up from £78.77 during the equivalent week last year, when trade declined in the wake of the terrorist bombings.
Occupancy increased by 18.2 percentage points to 88.9% and average room rate grew by 11.3% to £124.05, up from £111.42 in the corresponding week of 2005.

The Bench - which is partnered with US firm Smith Travel Research - provides online benchmarking data for in excess of 34,000 hotels in more than 400 markets.
