Be prepared for the digital switchover

Be prepared for the digital switchover

Television in the UK is going digital, bringing us all more choice and new services. Starting in 2008, the UK will switch to digital TV, transmitter by transmitter.

Ensure your Hotel or establishment wont go blank on the Tv Screens. If you currently receive just the traditional five UK channels (BBC One, BBC Two, ITV, Channel 4 and Five) – or only some of them – on any of your TV sets via an aerial , you’ll need to think about your options for getting digital TV. Every TV set your guests are watching in your hotel will need to be converted or upgraded to digital.

Most hoteliers and B&B owners say that availability of television is important in letting their rooms, yet a majority are unprepared for switchover and risk guests being stuck with blank screens, according to the latest research. Chantry Digital has set up a hotline and website for tourism property managers, with details on when switchover is occurring region by region, how to switch and the likely costs. Chantry Digital also will do a Free Site Survey
