Top world chefs to attend charity dinner

A charity dinner featuring some of the world's most famous chefs is to take place in France this autumn.

The Dinner of the Chefs, which will take place at the Trianon building at Versaille palace on 17 September, will feature 17 internationally renowned chefs with nearly 40 Michelin stars between them.

Set up in aid of Alzheimer charity the International Foundation for Research on Alzheimer Disease (IFRAD), the dinner will star chefs including Gordon Ramsay, Gary Rhodes, Ken Hom, Alain Passard and Michel and Sébastien Bras, who will prepare 15 courses.

A group of 60 selected guests will pay €17,000 (£13,400) to attend the dinner, with 30% of the proceeds after costs going to IFRAD.

While dishes have not yet been decided on, ingredients such as caviar, lobster and Bresse chickens have already been chosen.

Organiser René-Julien Praz said the event could become an annual event.

"I wanted to create something very special with a bunch of the most talented chefs, something rare, dedicated to these magicians who have this power of enchanting our palate," he said.

The Dinner of the Chefs will star:

Marc Meneau
Christophe Michalak
Jean-Louis Nomicos
Alain Passard
