Sodexo appoints new UK and Ireland chief executive

Contract caterer Sodexo has appointed a new UK and Ireland chief executive.

Aidan Connolly, who joined Sodexo as finance director in February 2007, will replace Yann Coleou who has relinquished the role to focus exclusively on the integration of the recently acquired Radhakrishna Hospitality Services Group in India.

Connolly, who will report to Sodexo's European chief executive Philip Jansen, was previously finance director of travel agent MyTravel UK and prior to that chief executive of home furnishings company Walker Greenbank.

He said: "I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the business as it develops further as a major provider of food and integrated facilities management services."

Connolly, who sits on Sodexo's UK and Ireland executive team, took the lead on negotiations over the £12b Defence Training Review project which resulted in Sodexo becoming a 50/50 equity partner in the Metrix consortium..

A new finance director will be "appointed in due course", Sodexo said.
