Ribble Valley Inns leases fourth site

Ribble Valley Inns (RVI), the Lancashire based pub group founded by the Catey award-winning duo of Nigel Haworth and Craig Bancroft, has taken on its fourth site.

RVI has agreed a 15-year lease on the Bull at Broughton, near Skipton in Yorkshire, and will invest £300,000 in refurbishing the pub ahead of the re-opening in June. Funding was provided by Barclays Commercial Bank.

The pub joins the Three Fishes at Mitton, the Highwayman near Kirkby, Lonsdale and the Clog & Billycock at Pleasington in the RVI stable.

Haworth, star of BBC2's Great British Menu, said the Bull provides a perfect platform to create dishes "that are the essence of Yorkshire".

"So many of the north's most talented producers are only a stone's throw from Broughton Hall, including many of Yorkshire's legendary cheese makers," he said.

"I'm already talking to as many producers as I can: people like Pasture Lane Asparagus, Pickering's Watercress, Makin's Strawberries and Fortune's Kippers. These are wonderful ingredients and I can't wait to start developing dishes."

Haworth and Bancroft are the co-proprietors of Northcote, the Michelin starred restaurant and 14-bedroom hotel in the heart of Lancashire's Ribble Valley.
