Feng Sushi to open seventh site

Japanese restaurant group Feng Sushi is to open its seventh site in Billingsgate fish market next month.

The new site will have just six seats and will focus on its delivery and take-away service for local homes and businesses in Canary Wharf and the surrounding areas.

The menu will focus on classic and modern sushi and sashimi, along with seasonal specialities such as MSC mackerel donburi.

Sustainable fish will be sourced daily from the market itself and company co-founder Silla Bjerrum will continue to be heavily involved in market activity, carrying out regular demonstrations and participating in events.

This is the group's first launch since former Pizza Express chairman Luke Johnson bought a majority share in the business last autumn. Several more openings are expected in the next 12 months. Feng Sushi is expected to confirm details about an eighth London site shortly.
