Westbury Street Holdings (WSH) has announced another reshuffle to its executive team, one year after Noel Mahony was promoted to chief executive of its business and industry division BaxterStorey.
John Bennett (pictured), formerly chief operating officer of WSH’s education businesses Holroyd Howe and Caterlink, has been appointed co-chief executive officer of BaxterStorey and will work alongside Mahony.
In addition, Mack Allan, Christine House and Dave Hawkes have all been appointed regional directors, as the independent contract caterer seeks to focus on expanding its regional foothold. The new structure follows a growth a period of growth through business retention and the development of BaxterStorey’s regional businesses. The caterer now operates across six regions, headed up by local business leaders.
Mahony and Bennett are tasked with overseeing the company’s future expansion while retaining its core principles of staff development, fresh food, local sourcing and customer service. They will continue to report to WSH chairman Alastair Storey.
Commenting on the restructure of the senior management team, Storey said: “Noel has played a pivotal role in leading our business to achieve its success but as BaxterStorey continues to grow we want to ensure our management team is structured to make the most of the regional opportunities that lie ahead.
“John’s expertise will provide valuable support to Noel and I truly believe that with the two of them at the helm of our business, BaxterStorey will strive even harder in delivering to our clients.”
Mahony said: “BaxterStorey holds a unique position in the marketplace, not only in our regional approach – operating regional businesses across the UK, headed up by local leaders, and sourcing from local suppliers – but in the fact that BaxterStorey’s owners are at the front end of the business.
“Our plans for continued regional expansion mean that our growing operation requires increased support so it’s very reassuring for the business that John will collaborate with me to enhance BaxterStorey’s success.”
Bennett added: “Through our industry-leading training academies and with the support of our four regional chef directors, we continue to invest in developing the incredible talent that exists within BaxterStorey.
“Having now worked alongside Noel for over 20 years, I feel our complementary skills will really drive our core business beliefs of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients prepared on site by a well-trained team that provides fantastic service to our clients and customers.”
The company also announced that BaxterStorey has relocated its London operation to support its future growth ambitions.
Having outgrown its previous premises at Cannon Street, BaxterStorey and its sister company, Portico, have moved into bigger offices at 140 London Wall, which also provides an additional base for parent company WSH.
Portico, WSH’s corporate reception management business, will manage the outsourced front of house services at the new site.
BaxterStorey has also relocated its Barista Academy to London Wall, which will enable practical training for the coffee development programme to be undertaken.
