Kornicis Group set to open ninth Jamies Wine Bar
London-based bar operator Kornicis Group is set to open its ninth Jamies Wine Bar.
The new site, in Alban Gate, London Wall, will open towards the end of August.
Kornicis chief executive Nick Tamblyn said: "We are positive we have the correct concept for our target market and continue to build a strong brand. The market is still challenging and the competition is fierce, but we are confident Jamies will continue to deliver."
Kornicis said its recent conversion to the Jamies format in Suffolk Lane had already seen a uplift in sales of more than 30% compared to the previous year, when it was trading as the Bolthole. The group added that it was in talks to add at least four more sites in the next 12 months.
Backed by NBGI Private Equity, Kornicis received a new acquisition facility from Barclays earlier in the year. The already 21-strong group will be carrying out major refurbishments in 2013 to key sites, including a large unit next to the Shard and in the developing London Bridge area.
The company was formed in August 2008, when NBGI acquired 17 bars and restaurants from the Food and Drink Group.
