Hammersmith school to become boutique hotel

A former Victorian school property in Hammersmith, west London, is set to be developed as a 35-bedroom boutique hotel.
Highmaster’s House was once part of the former St Paul’s School, which moved to nearby Barnes in 1961. It was later used as offices, before becoming home to the mental health charity Mind. However, it has recently fallen into disrepair, having been vacant since 2008.
Once the home of the high master of the school, the property will form the central element of the hotel, which will include a restaurant and bar. The adjacent Porter’s Lodge will also be included in the development.
The Grade II listed property was originally designed in a Gothic revival style by architect Alfred Waterhouse in 1893.
