David Moore to take over Roganic site for new pop-up

David Moore, owner of the Michelin-starred London restaurants Pied à Terre and L'Autre Pied, is to run a 10-month pop-up restaurant in Marylebone on the former site of Simon Rogan's Roganic.

The move comes just two months after this year's Chef and Independent Restaurateur Catey winner Rogan decided to close Roganic after his two-year lease on the 28-seat site came to an end in June.

Moore said Pied Nu will serve "simple, straightforward food to share" with around eight to 12 dishes on the menu. He has not yet appointed a chef.

"The idea behind running this pop-up is to test the waters for a new concept I would like to launch centred on raw food," Moore said.

"The menu won't exclusively be raw food but there will be an element of this. All dishes will be simple, with the idea of there being no more than three ingredients on a plate."

Moore added that the site will undergo a very mild revamp before reopening. "We will repaint it and beg, borrow and steal to kit it out and are hoping suppliers will sponsor us," he said.

Moore has run the former two-Michelin-starred Pied Á Terre on Charlotte Street for 21 years. He opened sister site L'Autre Pied in 2007. He runs a consultancy business and was one of the partners in Raymond Blanc's BBC TV show The Restaurant.

Restaurant Property brokered the deal on the site.
