NYC concept Harlem Soul replaces Old Street's Boondocks in brand overhaul
New York-influenced restaurant and bar Harlem Soul will open in Hoxton, London, next week, after a complete overhaul of the site's brand offering by operator Soul Food Enterprises.
The site accompanies other Soul Food Enterprises locations, Stax Diner in Carnaby and Butterscotch Bakery in White City.
The menu is set to include jackfruit tacos; cajun popcorn shrimp; buttermilk chicken and waffles with a vegan alternative - crispy seitan with vegan sweet potato waffle. The bar meanwhile will serve more than 30 craft beers and IPAs, as well as an extensive cocktail and mocktail list.
Decor will largely be handed off to a rotating roster of graffiti artists to connect the location with its Harlem theme. Opening works will be produced by Tizer, from south London, and Part One, a Harlem founding father of modern street art who found prominence in 1970s collective The Death Squad.
