Stuart Johnson

Stuart Johnson, managing director at London’s Brown’s hotel and 2012 Hotelier of the Year, completed the Thames Path Ultra Challenge 100km in honour of his wife Penny, who he lost to cancer five years ago. He raised more than £13,000 for the Children with Cancer UK charity, after taking 25 hours and 30 minutes, including breaks, to walk along the riverbank from Putney in London to Henley in Oxfordshire. Johnson, who was joined by a number of fellow liverymen from the Worshipful Company of Innholders, who completed 25km and 50km walks along the path, described the experience as “humbling”.
