16th century Lincolnshire pub on sale for £450,000
A 16th century Lincolnshire pub used as a meeting place by Lord Tennyson has gone on sale off a guide price of £450,000.
The White Hart Inn in Tetford is being marketed by Fleurets, and has five en suite letting rooms, a number of public bars, a restaurant, a large garden and a tearoom with a small shop. Building-wise it has two storeys, with exposed beams, brick fireplaces, and letting cottages in the grounds.
The pub was once known as the meeting place for the Tetford Club for local gentry, with members including Dr Samuel Johnson and Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
Gareth Hatton from Fleurets commented: "Such characteristic opportunities like these very rarely come about. The reputation of the property is well known to both locals and visiting tourists [and] this would be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to create a unique destination venue."
Tetford is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Lincolnshire Wolds, running from Louth in the north to Horncastle in the south. The area is popular for walking holidays, and Cadwell Park motor racing circuit is five miles away.
