BII launches new pub apprenticeship scheme
The BII has developed a new apprenticeship framework designed to help pubs and other licensed businesses to fill the skills gap identified in the industry.
Developed in conjunction with People 1st, BII's new Apprenticeship in Licensed Hospitality is open to anyone over the age of 16 who is not in full-time education.
The apprenticeship can be used by employers with existing employees, new recruits or by individuals looking at their long-term career prospects. All training and qualifications that staff need to work in the industry will be consolidated into an award that will be acknowledged across the industry and in wider workforce training. All of this is fundable through BII Awarding Body-approved centres. BII will also help match apprentices to premises across the country.
The BII is offering businesses the chance to hear more about the scheme at a launch event on Tuesday 16 August 2011 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. To register for the free event, which has limited places, e-mail: claireb@bii.org.
