Bob Walton appointed chairman of the Restaurant Association

Bob Walton, proprietor of Trunkwell Mansion House in Reading, has been appointed chairman of the Restaurant Association.

Walton, previously vice-chairman, succeeds David Baldwin, proprietor of Baldwin's Omega in Sheffield, who has held the post for the past two years.

The new vice-chairman is The Earl of Bradford, proprietor of Porter's Restaurant, London.

The Restaurant Association has been part of the British Hospitality Association, since a merger was agreed in 2003.

It celebrated its 40th anniversary at Langan's Brasserie in London last Thursday (8 November).
