Budvar on hunt for 50 top pubs to stock unpasteurised yeast beer
Czech-based beer company Budvar is to look for up to 50 top quality pubs to stock its unpasteurised Yeast Beer, which has so far only been available as a guest beer.
The company, which earlier this week won the right to continue using the Budweiser trade name in the UK, said that it was looking for outlets with the requisite facilities, cellaring and dispense knowledge to stock the beer.
Budvar UK's sales director Joe Laventure said: "To say it flies out though the door is a bit of a cliché, but that's what it's been doing. We've had to reconcile this consumer demand with the fact that being unpasteurised, it's a beer that needs an expert touch."
Budvar will offer training in the beer's care and dispense, tasting notes, branded glasses and membership of a Budvar Yeast trail. Each outlet will also receive a framed certificate confirming its status as a Budvar Yeast Beer outlet.
Court of Appeal allows Budvar to continue using Budweiser name >>
