Café couple regain control of their airspace

A couple have won a battle to keep the air above their café clear of overhanging cranes being used on a neighbouring building site.

Peter and Maureen Young claimed that the builders, who are developing the site for student accommodation, have been violating their airspace above the Snack Bar at the Riverside coach station in Bath.

Maureen Young said: "We have had cranes lifting skips across the site and over our café and the tables and chairs outside, and there is scaffolding overhanging our premises. Even some objects such as tape measures have dropped into our yard, and there is dust everywhere."

Now the builders have been told by the council that the airspace does belong to the café and an exclusion zone is being agreed.
