Caffe Nero surges ahead with more openings

Coffee chain Caffe Nero is on target to add a further 22 shops to its portfolio by early next year.

The group said in a statement today that trading was ahead of budget and in line with market expectations. It plans to have 150 outlets in operation across the UK by the start of next year.

In September the group added three shops in London, including one in the Selfridges store, and last month it added further outlets in Leeds and Bournemouth.

The company started with five coffee bars in London in 1997 and currently has 128 across 38 towns in the UK.
