CALL FOR action on WORLD FOOD DAY
Restaurants are being encouraged to support Action Against Hunger's second World Food Day, on 16 October.
The organisation is asking restaurants and cafés to donate a small percentage of the profit from one, or several, of the dishes on their menus to the charity.
Last year about 70 restaurants took part, including London eateries Mon Plaisir in Covent Garden, and the Stepping Stone in Battersea. Outside London, participants included the Fair Trade Café, Bradford; Food For Friends, Brighton; and the Dalmeny Hotel, Lytham St Anne's, Lancashire.
This year Action Against Hunger aims to have more than 200 establishments donating as much as £40,000.
If you would like your restaurant to take part in World Food Day, contact 0171-831 5858 for further information.
