GOLFPARTNER

Guiseppe Pecorelli, owner of the Manor House hotel at Castle Combe, Wiltshire, has bought the neighbouring Castle Combe Golf Club.

The golf club, which opened two years ago, had gone into receivership despite having 300 members. Mr Pecorelli bought the club for an undisclosed sum from the receiver.

Mr Pecorelli said both the hotel and the golf club were exclusive operations but would be entirely compatible. "The golf club has considerable potential and I am confident it will flourish through its links with the hotel. The facilities are among the best in the area," he claimed.

OFFICE NEIGHBOUR

Forte is about to apply for planning permission to build offices next to its four-star Queens Hotel in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

The one-acre site in the town's Imperial Square could provide around 66,000sq ft of office space. Architect for the proposed project, Dyer Associates, has designed a Regency-style building to complement the hotel and the square.

MUTTON BUYER

The 13-bedroom Shoulder of Mutton hotel at Hardstoft, near Chesterfield, Derbyshire, has been sold out of receivership for around £400,000.

The 17th century property, which was handled by the Manchester office of estate agents Chesterton, was sold to Kevin Sloan and Edward Booth, who plan to develop an inn, restaurant and new pizzeria over a six-month first phase and the hotel bedrooms and meeting rooms later.

RIALTO AGENT

POTENTIAL buyers may like to know that Davis & Coffer (071-493 5611) is marketing the Rialto Corner site in London (Caterer, 28 April).
