Chapman Group sells Trout pub
Experienced pub operator Alan Linton has bought his second pub, the Trout in Worthing, for an undisclosed sum.
Linton, who also operates the Marquis of Granby in Redhill, Surrey, bought the freehold of the Trout on the outskirts of Worthing off a guide price of £475,000.
The business was previously owned by the Chapman Group, the West Sussex pub and hotel operator, which runs the RelaxInnz brand.
The Trout is a detached property comprising an L-shaped lounge bar; a conservatory restaurant and further restaurant area with a total of 60 covers; and two-bedroom owner's/staff accommodation.
Spencer Mann from Christie + Co's Winchester office said: "The sale of the Trout is another example of an experienced operator who had seen the current climate as an ideal opportunity to acquire a second pub."
