Chimichanga to open new Glasgow Silverburn site this week
Tex-mex-style restaurant group Chimichanga is to open its new site in Glasgow, Scotland, on 13 March.
The 100-seat, £600,000 development will be set within the Silverburn shopping centre, and will be open from midday to 11pm every day. Its opening was first announced in June last year.
As with the group's other locations, the restaurant design will aim to reflect the bright colours of Mexico's architecture and street food culture, by combining strong colours, textures, natural materials and geometric patterns.
The menu will feature the usual array of Mexican-inspired sides and mains, such as potato skins with bacon and cheese, fried jalapeno peppers, pork ribs, nachos, burgers, fajitas and wraps.
The shopping centre, which opened in autumn last year, also has sites confirmed with other casual dining operators including Carluccio's, TGI Friday's, Cosmo, Zizzi and Pizza Express.
Chimichanga, which has 39 sites across the UK including in Bath, Peterborough, Ipswich and Cardiff, plus five in central London, opened its first Scottish location in June 2014, in Edinburgh. It is part of the Prezzo group, run by chief executive Jonathan Kaye, whose other brands also include Caffe Uno and Prezzo.
