Bass Hotels & Resorts is to build a 203-room hotel in the City of London.

The group's first Crowne Plaza hotel in central London is scheduled to open in September 2000. The £45m hotel will be housed in the former head office of law firm Clifford Chance on New Bridge Street, overlooking the Thames.

The hotel will have one of the longest bars in London and two restaurants, one run by Nico Ladenis (pictured above) and the other by Gary Rhodes.
