Compass on course for 6% growth

Compass is on course to deliver its target of at least 6% like-for-like turnover growth for the current financial year. In a trading statement, the group said it saw significant growth potential, especially in healthcare and education, as the trend for the public sector to outsource facilities management continued.

The contract caterer also announced a raft of contract wins ahead of year-end results, due on 2 December. At Reading Football Club it has won a seven-year contract worth £4m in annual turnover, while in Gateshead, fine-dining arm Restaurant Associates has started a nine-year contract at contemporary arts centre Baltic, worth £1.5m a year.

In education, Compass has bagged a 10-year deal for De Montfort University, in Leicester, worth £1.75m a year, and a five-year contract at Nottingham University, worth £1m a year.
