Corney & Barrow site to close after 25 years of trading

The Corney & Barrow Broadgate Circle bar in London is to close after 25 years of trading.

The site closes on 21 June 2013 as part of the wider redevelopment of the Broadgate area by developer British Land. The redevelopment is expected to create space for several retail and restaurant/bar outlets.

The Bar stayed open until 11pm, five days a week when it opened a quarter of a century ago, which Corney & Barrow said was rare for sites in the City at the time.

Ed Gardner, managing director of Corney & Barrow said: "The Corney & Barrow site at Broadgate Circle is an iconic bar and it will be sorely missed. Many, many people have passed through its doors over 25 years and I'd like to thank them all - staff and customers alike - for their support. We look forward to beginning discussions with British Land later in the year regarding a new C&B venue in the development, which re-opens in early 2015
