Cosy Club and M&B join Worcester development
Cosy Club and Mitchells & Butlers have become the latest hospitality names to join the newly named Cathedral Square development in Worcester.
Upscale burger brand Byron is already signed up for the new venture by Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund (SHOF), which involves the redevelopment of the shopping centre and the creation of seven restaurants during second quarter of 2015.
Cosy Club, the premium brand of Loungers, which was co-founded by 2014 Pub and Bar Catey winner Alex Reilley, has taken a 4,904 sq ft site.
Mitchells & Butlers, trading as Miller & Carter, has taken 5,661 sq ft, and both businesses have secured 25 year leases located on the proposed new terrace level at Cathedral Square.
SHOF received planning permission for the redevelopment, which will create 100 new jobs, in August this year.
A new public square will be developed jointly with the County and City Councils and will be located on the site of an existing roundabout between Deansgate and College Street. SHOF are in talks with a number of operators about the remaining restaurant and retail units.
SHOF's Nick Webb commented: "We have now signed three fantastic restaurant brands at Cathedral Square who will provide a varied and exciting food offer. We are in discussions with a number of other good quality restaurant and retail businesses new to Worcester and the West Midlands."
Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund were advised by DMR, Hartnell Taylor Cook and Johnson Fellows. Mitchells & Butlers were advised by KLW Property and Cosy Club were unrepresented.
