Cross-border group formed by Irish hotels

Irish hoteliers have set up a joint working group to assess how tourism can be managed on an all-Ireland basis after the peace deal.

The Hospitality Association of Northern Ireland (HANI) and the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) are now talking about practical co-operation.

Already, the Tourism Brand Ireland scheme promotes the island as a whole. Both HANI and IHF members also share a highly successful hotel guide, Be Our Guest.

HANI says it would like to implement the IHF's quality employer programme so that its hoteliers could set standards and highlight the attractive careers in the industry.
