Darwin & Wallace restaurant and bar group to open fourth site

Restaurant and bar group Darwin & Wallace is set to open its fourth venue, in Chiswick, west London, in spring 2016.

The all-day restaurant and bar will be at 197-199 Chiswick High Street, on the site of the old fire station, and will serve a changing menu, from coffee and brunch to evening meals and cocktails. The interior will include a wide, modern-style bar, and an outdoor courtyard space.

The move comes just months after the group's announcement that it would be opening in Richmond-upon-Thames in November 2015, and is the latest in its overall plan to expand into London's "local villages", including Knightsbridge, Hampstead, and Islington.

Founded in August 2012 by former brand manager of All Bar One, Mel Marriott, the group is backed by the Imbiba Partnership. Its other sites are No.11 Pimlico Road and No.32 the Old Town Clapham (pictured), which opened in 2012 and 2014 respectively.

Commenting on the new opening, Marriott said: "Each of our bars and restaurants is a unique representation of the community it serves, with interesting and contemporary interiors. By working with a group of exciting young designers who are ahead of the curve we are eschewing standard, cookie cutter decor and creating standout sites."
