Debut for strawberry leisure

Debut for strawberry leisure

Newcomer Strawberry Leisure will have a prominent place at the show - as well as taking a stand, it is sponsoring all the furniture at the dual-themed, 120-seater La Parade des Chefs restaurant.

On show in one half of the restaurant will be its suede-finished Stardust range, for interior use.

In the other half will be the lively Strawberry Fayre range, finished in bright Colortex combinations, with seat and table panels in Strawberry Red and the underframes in Glade Green. These are built for outdoor, conservatory or café use.

Over on the stand, the third theme in the flagship range will be shown: Seagull, in its Caspian Blue and Spindrift White colour choices.

Strawberry Leisure furniture is British-made and designed, and is constructed from sheet steel.

Chairs and tables are available individually, or as attached units. Trade price for a "twosome set" of two chairs and an occasional table is £125.

MINIATURE TABLE LAMPS

WITH all the romance of candlelight and none of the mess, liquid candle lamps are slowly creeping into more UK restaurants. But many of the early models have been a little garish, or overlarge. Restaurant smallwares specialist Transatlantic Specialties is launching a tasteful, miniature range at Hospitality Week - Transpec Mini-Lamps.

No taller than a salt-cellar, each Mini-Lamp contains a disposable fuel cell that is non-toxic, non-flammable and non-staining. The cells last for 17 hours.

Available in classic chimney, cylinder and circular globes, they cost from £8.99, plus VAT, and including one fuel cell.

STILL flushed with its success at last year's World of Hospitality - where its albalite range won a new product award - this year Steelite is showing the product in an expanded range.

Combining a translucent, white finish with the toughness of the company's steelite ceramic body, albalite now comes in a range of patterns that have evolved over the past year.

The lean, art deco shape of the Manhattan range - inspired by New York's Chrysler building - now comes in five bright, boldly coloured patterns: Monet, Deville, Cleo, Bordeaux and Noir.

The more rounded, classic Regency shape has been transformed with eight different patterns, from the spicy autumnal colours of Aztec, to the more subdued antique shades of Mosaic.

For purists, these two are also available in white, as is Premiere, a floral, embossed range.

Hotelware goes ethnic

A striking, ethnic-influenced pattern makes its debut from Churchill Hotelware. Inca is a geometric design, with burgundy and aquamarine details set against a taupe marbled border. Contemporary but subtle, it is designed to appeal across all sectors - but it's so new, there are no pictures of it yet.

Also on the stand will be last year's most popular patterns: Verona, which has a jade green marbled border inset with motif; and Black Line, a minimalist pattern with a simple line decoration to complement its classic shapes; also available in burgundy.

OH SAUVAGE!

The Interiors/Exteriors Hall looks into the smallest details of interior planning, including bathroom toiletries. Alongside well-known brands exhibiting, such as Bronnley, is the lesser-known Sauvage Cosmetique.

Based in Mayfair, London, Sauvage Cosmetique offers vitamin-enriched, non-toxic toiletries, plus a range of hotel amenity products - robes, slippers and sewing kits. Packaging is re-cyclable, and can be customised.

It has already been snapped up by the hotel industry - one international hotel group recently agreed a $20m amenity package, and another four-star group sells the products, in its own packaging, in its lobby shops.
