Dirty Martini to open in Clapham

CG Restaurants & Bars has opened a new outpost for its Dirty Martini brand, after acquiring the Loft in London's Clapham.

The new bar, on Clapham high street, will open in April 2015 as Dirty Martini's sixth site in London, and its fourth new site in 18 months.

Previous openings in the City include at Bishopsgate in September 2013, and at Monument and St Paul's, both of which opened late last year.

Clapham is the first Dirty Martini site outside of Zone 1 but chief executive Scott Matthews said he planned more.

"We are extremely excited to be taking Dirty Martini south of the river to Clapham, where consumers have a huge appetite for our unique offer of high quality cocktails, glamourous interiors and famous Happy Hours," Matthews said.

The brand enjoyed strong sales over Christmas and the CG Restaurants & Bars said it was on course to deliver £11.6m in sales in 2015.

Matthews added that he hopes the business will have 15 venues by the fourth quarter of 2016.

He said: "Our acquisitions specialists are highly knowledgeable about the markets that fit Dirty Martini and locations such as Clapham are the natural progression. We are hotly pursuing more opportunities both in central London and surrounding major leisure locations."

In addition to the Dirty Martini brand, CG Leisure also operates Fire & Stone in Maiden Lane and Westfield, as well as Tuttons in Covent Garden and Bitter Sweet cocktail bar in Soho.
