Disposal costs slashed

Installation of a Frihopress RMV1100 weatherproof refuse press at the rear of a McDonald's hamburger restaurant in Crewe has helped substantially reduce collection/disposal costs which were estimated to be as high as £1.8m per annum. Frabchisse Michael Charles has since installed a second machine at his Congleton franchise.

The microprocessor controlled machine can compact used disposables and other refuse down to 25% of original volume, thus reducing the need for multiple wheelie bins or other containers. the new unit has also help free space formerly needed for storage. Payback time on the installation is reckoned at less than two-and-a-half years.
