Dissolves gunge in seconds

A fast-acting new chemical agent for problem drains and blocked sinks was shown by Aluline. Plunge, made by BVT, is described as a thermo-chemical able to dissolve unpleasant matter such as hair, soap scum and slime when it becomes trapped, matted and tangled in sinks and elsewhere.

The liquid is trickled in, with cold water, into the problem area and takes about 60-90 seconds to work. Despite its fearsome capabilities, the product is described as harmless to pipes or fittings and gives off no fumes. A 495g pack is priced at £6.95.
