Doncaster caterer found with gunshot wound

Police are waiting to interview a caterer and restaurateur who is recovering in hospital after being found shot in his home.

Michael Poyner, who owns events caterer Poyner Catering in Doncaster and nearby restaurant Casablanca, had a gunshot wound to his chest when he was found at his Austerfield home in South Yorkshire on 19 March.

Inspector Bill Davidson of Thorne police said that the gun was found on the premises and that it is understood that Poyner had shot himself. Staff at Poyner's catering business and restaurant declined to comment.
