Drake and Morgan to open two new sites in 2013
Bar and casual dining operator Drake & Morgan is set to open two more venues in the centre of London in 2013.
The former Catey winner will occupy two new AXA Real Estate developments in the City. The first, called the Happenstance, will occupy No.1 St Paul's Churchyard, while the second, the Haberdashery, will be at Sixty London, Holborn.
Both bars will be designed by Fusion Design and Architecture, and inspiration for the sites has been taken from bars and restaurants in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo.
The Happenstance will occupy 8,000 square feet and will feature floor-to-ceiling windows allowing customers to take in the view of St Paul's Cathedral. The 238-cover venue will also incorporate an open kitchen, deli, mixology table, florist, bar and private dining room.
The Haberdashery will be even bigger, at just over 10,000 square feet, and will include a florist, cheese and wine room, deli, kitchen and bar. The 478-cover venue will be spread over three floors, including a mezzanine level.
Managing director Jillian MacLean (pictured) said: "We are delighted to be opening these new sites next year, and it's fantastic that we can continue to provide the City with something that's a little bit different, fresh and innovative."
