Drake & Morgan appoints Lunson Mitchenall for nationwide property hunt

Bar and restaurant group Drake & Morgan has appointed Lunson Mitchenall to search for property as it begins its nationwide expansion.

The instruction follows the news that Bowmark Capital, the mid-market private equity firm, has backed the £30m management buy-out and expansion of the innovative bar and restaurant company.

Drake & Morgan is expected to expand to up to 70 sites across the country as a result of the deal.

Initially, Lunson Mitchenall will focus on high footfall, high density, commercial locations for Drake & Morgan, concentrating on sites between 5,500 sq ft and 10,000 sq ft.

Drake & Morgan opened its sixth site the Happenstance, at 1 St Paul's earlier this month.

Jillian MacLean (pictured), founder of Drake & Morgan, said: "We look forward to building on our success to date and accelerating the growth of the company."

Theo Fordham, head of catering and leisure at Lunson Mitchenall, added: "This is a significant win for Lunson Mitchenall and will allow us to tap into our expertise of the London market.

"Drake & Morgan has quickly established itself as a strong brand in a highly competitive sector and we hope to announce further acquisitions soon, as we roll out Drake & Morgan's expansion plans in the Capital."

Lunson Mitchenall's other clients include Sainsbury's, Debenhams, YO! Sushi, Caffe Nero and Chicago Rib Shack.
