Elsener the big Swiss cheese
Willi Elsener, executive chef at London's Dorchester hotel, has been named Swiss Star Abroad for 1999 by his home country's leading restaurant guidebook, Gault Millau, at its annual award ceremony.
Elsener, the 1996 recipient of the Caterer & Hotelkeeper Chef of the Year award, flew out to Switzerland to receive the accolade.
He says: "I was very flattered by the award. It's always nice to be recognised and rewarded in your own country. And it was also good to see old colleagues and friends again after a gap of 20 years."
