Enterprise sells pub where Ronnie Kray murdered George Cornell

Enterprise Inns has sold an East London pub made infamous by a gangland murder involving the Kray Twins for £1.26m.

The Blind Beggar in Whitechapel was the former haunt of Ronnie and Reggie Kray and the site of the murder of George Cornell, a member of the Richardson gang, run by brothers Charlie and Eddie who were scrap metal dealers and criminals.

Enterprise sold eight other pubs at the Allsops auction yesterday on a sale-and-leaseback basis, raising a total of around £13m. One, the Old Ship in Hackney, did not sell.

Belushi's, Camden: £1.8m (guide price: £1.25m - £1.35m)
The Rosslyn Arms, Hampstead: £1.73m (guide price: £1.2m - £1.3m)
Nell of Old Drury, Covent Garden: £1.68m (guide price: £1.35m - £1.45m)
The Grafton Arms, Kentish Town: £1.27m (guide price: £1.15m - £1.25m)
A Bar 2 Far, Tooting: £1.26m (guide price: £1.15m - £1.25m)
The One Tun, Hatton Garden: £1.2m (guide price: £1.15m - £1.25m)
The Town of Ramsgate, Wapping: £1.11m (guide price: £950,000 - £1.05m)
