Family Brewers pubs buck the trend with increase in draught beer sales
Member pubs of the Independent Family Brewers of Britain have recorded a 2% growth in draught beer sales - higher than the industry average - according to independent research.
Data from CGA Strategy shows that the pub industry overall recorded a 3% drop in draught beer sales during 2011.
Paul Wells, chairman of the Family Brewers, which currently operates around 4,200 pubs in the UK, said the growth of draught beer sales across its 4,200 pubs reflected the great selection of cask beer available across its estate.
"Family Brewers occupy a unique space in the UK brewing industry, combining the depth of brewing tradition of its member family businesses with the greatest respect for the finest natural beer ingredients," he said. "This guarantees the quality, consistency and choice demanded by today's discerning consumers."
The Independent Family Brewers of Britain, which was founded in 1993, represents regional breweries and pub estates, with the majority being private, family-run businesses.
