Feel the quality at Hostex 2005

The emphasis at the Hostex 2005 catering and hospitality show in Scarborough is on quality and variety, rather than size, says show organiser Sheila Davenport.

Besides exhibitors of food, drink and equipment products, the show has a full schedule of workshops and demonstrations. These include guidance on how the Disability Discrimination Act affects companies, and advice on licensing policy.

"We asked what visitors thought last year's show was missing," says Davenport. "In response to this we will have more displays on interior design."

The Yorkshire Tourist Board will also present its £2.8m "Make Yorkshire Yours" campaign, the region's biggest investment in tourism marketing to date.

The two-day event will be opened at 11am on 22 February by the Mayor of Scarborough, Eric Broadbent. He said: "The hospitality industry is a key contributor to the life and soul of our borough, and to our vision of achieving the renaissance of the North Yorkshire coast by 2020."

Admission to this trade-only event is free.
