Finding out about hotel management training programmes

Question

I have gained the HCIMA certificate in hospitality studies, and I would like to apply for a management training programme for one of the five-star hotel chains such as Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton or InterContinental. I have been trying to find information on the Internet but have had no luck. Could you tell me how to find out more about them?

The first port of call is to look at the Web sites of the companies you are interested in. Some have specific pages on recruitment, but you may need to phone or e-mail others to find out more. [Hilton](http://www.hilton-hotels.hcareers.co.uk) has a scheme called Elevator that is aimed at graduates who can speak a foreign language. Trainees complete nine months in a UK hotel and nine months in another country. [Marriott](http://careers.marriott.com/CollegeManagementTraining.asp?EPCEC=InProcess) has a management development program which is offered in many hotels throughout the country. The program allows you to specialise in one of the following areas: - room operations and guest services - F&B - sales and marketing - accounting and finance [InterContinental](http://www.sixcontinents.com/ourpeople/people.htm) and [Sheraton both have Web pages detailing career opportunities.
