First delivery-only restaurant launched by Facebook page opens in East London

14 November 2017 by

Recipe video channel Twisted has branched out in to the hospitality industry by launching a delivery-only restaurant, Twisted London, in East London.

The social media channel, owned by Jungle Creations, opened its delivery-only restaurant yesterday (13 November) available to London based diners to order via UberEats and Deliveroo within a two-mile radius of E1.

Every recipe video posted on the Twisted London Facebook page can be ordered via the deliver apps.

Menu items include the Bare Grylled cheese sandwich (artisan sourdough, taleggio, cheddar, sauerkraut and beer deli mustard); the "Fu Manchu" crispy shredded beef burger; the vegan KFV burger (vegan chicken fillet, avocado, vegan bun); Demon chicken wings with ghost chilli buffalo sauce; and rainbow cheesecake.

Twisted was founded in March 2016 and has eight million followers across Facebook and Instagram. Its videos receive over 200 million global views a month.

A team of 10 run the kitchen with head chef, Tom Ewer, at the helm.

Ewer said: "Over the past 15 years cooking in London; moving from fine dining to brasserie and cool brunch hangouts, I have pretty much experienced all the London food scene has to offer. Twisted London had me from the moment I heard about it, I spent much time at the beginning just absorbing the feel and millennial vibe of the social media video channel. So when I started developing the menu with my very knowledgeable GM and all the team from Twisted and Jungle Creations; I felt I had a strong understanding of the direction this menu needed to move in.

"All the items on the menu have been tested repeatedly not only for ‘the twist' flavour profile and texture but also how all this is affected by the delivery aspect. The packaging we use has been developed especially. Certain garnishes and sauces for dishes are served separately to ensure crispness, freshness and overall customer satisfaction, which at the end of the day is why we are all in this business. I cannot wait to get feedback from the great foodies of London and even further afield as we look to expand on this brand in future."

It hopes to open more delivery-only restaurants in other major cities around the globe.
