First pub refurbished under Star Pubs and Bars brand re-opens
Mitchells Pub Management has opened its third site with Star Pubs & Bars (formerly Scottish & Newcastle Pub Company).
Mitchells has opened the Church House in Sheffield this week, following a £220,000 investment by Star Pubs and Bars.
The Church House is the first refurbished site that the company has opened as Star Pubs & Bars.
The investment has transformed the site from a dated bar called the Sanctuary into a city centre pub. The grade 2 listed building has been cleaned and restored outside, while inside floors have been stripped, old brickwork exposed, original features such as the fireplace refurbished and new ones including huge chandeliers added to create a stylish yet traditional look.
The pub will be an all-day operation, and will include a coffee area with sofas as well as a dining area.
Nick Yates, business development manager with Mitchell's Pub Management added: "We have established a great working relationship with Star Pubs & Bars and this is a fantastic opportunity to operate what we believe will be the best pub in Sheffield."
Mitchell's Pub Management currently has eight pubs on substantive agreements and is looking to take on further leased pubs.
