Four Seasons in expansive mood
Four Seasons has revealed plans to open seven new hotels over the next three years in what chief executive officer Isadore Sharp describes as "the largest expansion in our 40-year history".
The newcomers, which will open from 2001, include a ski resort in Whistler, British Columbia, and resorts in Great Exuma in the Bahamas; Guanacaste in Costa Rica; the Côte d'Azur in France; and San Miguel in Puerto Rico. Two city hotels are planned in Alexandria, Egypt, and Beirut, Lebanon.
The group already has plans under way to open in Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, Caracas in Venezuela, and Dublin during 2000. Other developments are under way in Budapest, Prague, San Francisco and Shanghai.
Four Seasons manages 47 properties in 19 countries, including last year's new hotel in London's Canary Wharf.
