Frog Bar in London's Clapham to be revamped by Darwin & Wallace
The Frog bar and restaurant in Clapham, London, is to be reopened under a new name following acquisition and refurbishment by bar & restaurant group Darwin & Wallace.
The new venue, which overlooks Clapham Common, will open in spring this year. It will have a new drinks menu including more beers and cocktail choices, and a revamped interior from designer Lou Davies from Box-9 Designs.
Restaurant and bar specialist Darwin & Wallace opened its first site, No 11 Pimlico Road, in March 2013.
It was founded in 2012 by Melanie Marriott, brand manager of high street bar All Bar One, with support from the investment group The Imbiba Partnership.
She commented on the new Frog development: "The Darwin & Wallace team are all incredibly excited to have acquired this iconic new site. We're looking forward to evolving the space with an imaginative design which will capture the spirit of the area and the people within it."
The new move is part of the company's aim to expand its business further across the capital, with a focus on 5,000-7,000 sq ft sites in affluent, urban "villages" such as Chiswick, Knightsbridge, Soho, Hampstead, Shoreditch and Islington.
The company confirmed that their initial plan was to open another site within the next year.
