FSA wants stars to promote healthy eating

The Food Standards Agency wants to see celebrities and sports stars promote healthier food choices to children. It has recommended that the broadcast regulator Ofcom and the advertising industry overhaul the way food is advertised to kids.

The FSA believes that adverts for high-fat or high-sugar products, such as Walkers crisps and Pepsi Cola, which feature Gary Lineker and David Beckham, create an unbalanced output of advertising.
