Fusion acquires St Andrews golf pub

Fusion Group has acquired St Andrews pub 1 Golf Place and renamed it the Golf Inn. The firm will complete a £90K rolling makeover in the next few weeks.

The aim is to increase dry sales via an all-day kitchen as well as push the Inn's six bedrooms, according to Fusion Group MD Alex McKie, who said that for golfers there were "few better known destinations than St Andrews on which to put your own stamp".

He added that the group intends to make it the 19th hole of choice for golfers and their families.

"It is an iconic corner of the old town and will appeal to most that pass on their way in or out of St. Andrews," he said.

Fusion has acquired the lease for at least 15 years from Iona Pub Partnerships.

The group also operates the Old Churches House hotel in Dunblane and the Red Brolly Inn near Pitlochry.
