Get to know game at Malvern

Chefs keen to learn more about buying, cooking and preparing game should head for the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, Worcestershire, where the inaugural Game and Country Fair is taking place on 6-8 September.

The event will feature country food and cooking as part of a promotion of rural living.

A cookery theatre will host demonstrations by chefs from local hotels, including Jerome Barbancon, head chef at Brockencote Hall and 2000 winner of the Rioja Sous Chef Bursary.

Among the food and drink exhibitors showing their wares will be Paul Cook of Osgrow, a supplier of meats such as ostrich, zebra, buffalo, kangaroo and crocodile, and Farmhouse Direct, supplier of Highland Breed and wild venison.
