Giggling Squid to open eight more sites in 12 months

Thai restaurant group Giggling Squid is set to open another eight sites over the next 12 months, as the company announced that its new Sevenoaks site would launch on 5 August.

The company, co-owned by Andy and Pranee Laurillard, has nine venues in Brighton, Hove, Crawley, Tunbridge Wells, Henley-on-Thames, Stratford-upon-Avon, Marlow and Horsham, its most recent opening, which is averaging weekly sales of between £25,000 and £30,000.

The 100-seater Sevenoaks site, which will create 20 new jobs when it opens on 5 August, cost £250,000 to refurbish. It sits on the site of what was a Strada restaurant.

The next site to open will be in Maidstone in the autumn, and the group is thought to be close to exchanging on two more sites.
