Green Gourmet's Julie Moore wins Woman of the Year Award

Julie Moore, managing director of UK-based food innovation company Green Gourmet, has won the Woman of the Year Award at the Gloucestershire Women in Business Awards 2013.

At Green Gourmet, Julie has doubled the company's turnover and maintained double digit growth in each of the last four years.

The company creates brands and supplies a large range of meat, poultry, fish and bakery products to a variety of food service customers.

Having risen from trainee chef, Julie was praised for her determination and focus to build a career path in a traditionally male dominated environment.

The company has grown sales to UK-based airlines to £2.5m in two years and is now trading with three of the world's four leading air caterers.

Moore said she was proud to accept the award and had a great team at Green Gourmet which was taking great strides in building its export market. She said the company's success was due to its ability to react to customer needs and move quickly to make things happen.
