Greene King thought to be among firms interested in Capital Pub Company

Greene King is reported to be among a number of pub companies to have informally contacted Capital Pub Company since it was revealed Fuller's made an indicative 200p-per-share offer for Capital.

Earlier this week Fuller's was served with a notice from the Takeover Panel which requires it to put in a formal offer by 1 August.

In the three weeks since it emerged that the London brewer and pub company's £54m offer had been rejected by its smaller rival, Capital has been informally contacted by Greene King and "several other players", according to the Times.
